Our Motivation

Telecommunications are fundamental. Education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce, government: society is increasingly built on a foundation of modern telecommunications infrastructure.

In most cases, however, the telecommunications infrastructure in Liberia is inadequate to support modern data services. Government offices, hospitals, enterprises both large and small, universities, and residential customers all lack access to fast, affordable, and secure ICT. This has hindered Liberia’s growth in integrating and automating government agencies and services, improving educational opportunities, developing crucial healthcare communications, and providing job opportunities throughout the country.

The MoWays Story

Recognizing the fundamental importance of strong ICT to the growth and development of Liberia, MoWays Communications formed in 2011 with a singular goal: to bring modern, affordable, and sustainable telecommunications infrastructure to the people of Liberia.

Founded by Ophelia Mosbey, a Liberian American, and her husband Elmer, MoWays has strong roots in Liberia. Throughout the history of the company, MoWays’ leadership has worked alongside stakeholders in the Liberian government, business, healthcare, and education communities to understand how to build modern telecommunications not just in Liberia, but also for Liberia.

MoWays Communications consists of professionals with decades of experience in the ICT industry. Built around this strong core is a network of partnerships that is bringing truly world-class telecommunications companies to Liberia. Team Moways combines the experience and dedication of MoWays Communications with the expertise of global industry leaders. Cisco Systems and Dimension Data are working with MoWays Communications to build out top-notch networks, and Monrovia-based Data Synergy is ensuring that the IT solutions of Team MoWays are first and foremost Liberian.
